Unlocking the potential for flexible working
The 2023 webinar discussion focused on realising the benefits of flexible working in the construction and engineering sectors with a panel of industry experts.
The industry has spent a large amount of time and effort discussing and working on initiatives to diversify talent, address skill shortages, and improve staff wellbeing and mental health. There has been an increasing interest in flexible working policies and schemes. These practices could have the potential to attract and retain more women to the construction and engineering who are put off by the lack of flexibility of work which is often location based and involves working long hours.
Chaired by Claire Smith, editor, New Civil Engineer, the panel of experts came together to discuss the future of flexible work practices with the sector and address the opportunities to improve flexibility within onsite roles.
