Culture as infrastructure: Building workplaces where everyone thrives
-
In construction and engineering, we invest heavily in physical infrastructure, yet the invisible structures, culture, leadership, and behaviours, are just as critical to how organisations perform and grow.
This panel explores culture as infrastructure: how workplace environments are intentionally shaped to support progression, retention, and inclusion. While the focus is on advancing women in a traditionally male-dominated industry, the impact extends far beyond gender.
When Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is embedded effectively, it strengthens organisations as a whole, improving performance, safety, and team cohesion. Through honest insights, our panel will reflect on what good leadership and allyship look like in practice, what has meaningfully changed within their organisations, and where challenges still remain.
- What does culture as infrastructure mean in practice within your organisation, and how does it show up day-to-day?
- What does good leadership look like in a majority male industry, and how is it evolving?
- What does effective allyship look like in action, and where do we still get it wrong?
-
What have you changed that has made a real difference, and what hasn’t changed yet but needs to?
