Award categories
For individuals
Technical Excellence
The Technical Excellence category seeks to celebrate women who are simply great in their specialist field, whether that’s engineering, digital design, carbon reduction or construction on site. These nominees deliver excellence combined with innovation and collaboration to make a significant impact in the planning or delivery of a project.
Contribution to a Project
This category seeks to recognise women who work on projects, but not in a direct engineering or construction capacity, who still play a crucial part in project delivery. These might be project managers or those from other disciplines such as marketing, quantity surveying, cost management or data management.
Inspirational Leadership
This is a category aimed at women in leadership positions in engineering or construction firms who have used their positions to inspire and engage the workforce and improve outcomes for customers and their business.
Contribution to Gender Diversity
This category is open to any inspirational person, not just women, who have gone above and beyond to promote gender diversity through their own work.
Rising Star
This category seeks to recognise women in their early career who have gone above and beyond to promote gender diversity through their own work or made an outstanding contribution to a project or outreach activity.
The entrant must have no more than 10 years’ industry experience and the entry must be backed by a supporting testimonial.
For organisations
Excellence in Outreach
This category looks to recognise individuals or teams who go the extra mile to inspire women to consider a career in engineering or construction. Whether it is promoting science, technology, engineering and maths in schools and colleges, or mentoring work placements and new joiners or working with youth organisations, this person or organisation deserves recognition for encouraging women to take part in the engineering and construction sector.
Excellence in Business Culture
This category is open to individuals and teams who do not work in a technical capacity, but who nevertheless play a critical role in supporting project teams and championing initiatives across their organisation. For example, nominees might work in human resources or communications and strive to empower women in their workforce.
